Under the brand of HoundHouse tm, Mark has designed and patented a soft sided and elevated dog house (kennel) that has veterinary approval. After building the large size HoundHouse it became obvious, from the public and veterinary response, that HoundHouse would be a marketable item. Mark then initiated the patent and trademark and started manufacturing 10 units per time, which sold quickly. Due to market demand, Mark created the 4 different sizes, and proceeded to manufacture 10 of each size, then 25 and 50 units. By this time Mark was travelling to shops in the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast area selling the HoundHouse wholesale.
Funding was raised via business loans from family assets. This funding enabled acquisitions of the necessary patents and trademark, and journeys to inland China (October 2004) where a manufacturing contract with a Chinese factory was signed. After personally manufacturing and wholesaling units by establishing demand through resellers, the company Trimbiz was incorporated and commenced business in March 2005. The first 515 dog houses from China arrived July 05.
HoundHouse dog houses quickly became a populsr item and are sold successfully throughout Australia through Trimbiz PTY, USA through Aussie inc. & UK through HoundHouse Limited. Trimbiz go to market model for the HoundHouse products is a combination of internet sales via third party pet product e-retailers, distributors of pet supplies, local markets, and over-the-counter sales.
